Since no other faults were stored, there will be a long pause then one flash (1), pause, then two flashes (2). If any additional faults were stored the SECM would again have a long pause, then display the next fault by flashing each digit. This identifies a twenty-six (26), which is the ETC Sticking fault.
It will then pause for 1.2 seconds (long pause) and flash two times (2), pause, then flash six times (6). This identifies a twelve (12), which is the beginning of the fault list. When the codes are displayed the MIL will flash one time (1), pause, then flash two times (2).

A code 12 is displayed at the beginning of the code list.ĮXAMPLE: A code 26 has been detected (ETC Sticking) and the engine has shut down and the MIL has remained ON. When the fault codes are retrieved (displayed) the MIL will flash for each digit with a short pause (.5 seconds) between digits and a long pause (1.2 seconds) between fault codes. Reading Diagnostic Fault CodesĪll MI-4 fault codes are two digit codes. This feature enables the service technician to view the fault codes by turning the key to the ON position, if a foot pedal malfunction is preventing the retrieval of the stored fault codes from the SECM. An automatic code display feature is activated if a foot pedal fault condition exists. The code list will continue to repeat until the key is turned OFF.
Simply turn the key OFF to exit display mode. You must fully cycle the foot pedal three (3) times within five (5) seconds to enable the display codes feature of the SECM. As soon as you turn the key to the ON position you must cycle the foot pedal by depressing it to the floor and then fully releasing the pedal (pedal maneuver). Now turn ON the key but do not start the engine. To enter code display mode, you must turn OFF the ignition key. I found these error codes and procedures to work on the Clark forklift with the Hyundai engine.
